Sadharan Money — Privacy Policy
Sadharan Money is a simple, dark app for noting what you spend, made by Sadharan ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with information on your phone.
In short: your accounts, entries and budgets stay on your phone. The app has no sign-up, no ads and no analytics, and never sends your money information anywhere. The one thing that leaves your phone is an anonymous crash report, if the app crashes, as described below.
What the app stores, and where
All of the following is saved in the app's private storage on your phone. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.
- Your money information. Accounts and their balances, income and expense entries (amount, category, date, note), transfers, monthly budgets, monthly repeating entries, savings goals, and the assets and loans you add with their values.
- Your choices. For example the currency you picked, whether you finished the first screen, the folder and schedule for automatic backup, what each widget shows, whether app lock is on, and whether Sadharan Plus is unlocked.
- Your country, for the currency. Until you pick a currency, the app uses the country of your SIM card or mobile network (or else your language setting) to choose one. It reads this on the phone and keeps nothing of it.
What leaves the phone
- Crash reports. If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service that is part of the app) sends a report to Google so we can fix the problem. The report contains technical information only: the app version, your phone model and Android version, what the app was doing when it failed (a stack trace), and a random identifier for the installation. It does not contain your accounts, amounts or notes. Google processes it under Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's terms. Crash reports are used only to fix bugs.
- Send feedback opens your email app with our address, a subject line and the app version filled in. Nothing is sent until you press send there. We use the emails we receive only to reply and to improve the app, and don't share them.
- Rate the app opens the Play Store.
- Backup to a file. You can save all your data as one file, anywhere you choose, using Android's file picker. The file is not encrypted and holds everything you have entered, so keep it somewhere you trust. We never see it. Restore reads a file you choose, the same way.
- Automatic backup (Sadharan Plus) writes the same kind of file, every day or every week, into a folder you pick, and keeps the newest seven. The files stay in that folder; the app sends them nowhere.
- Reports (PDF and Excel) are saved where you choose, like a backup file. We never see them.
- Speaking an entry (Sadharan Plus, quick add) uses your phone's own speech service, usually Google's. It listens, turns what you say into text, and hands the app only that text; the app never gets the microphone or the audio. Depending on your phone and its settings, that service may process the audio on Google's servers, under Google's Privacy Policy. Typing an entry instead sends nothing anywhere.
- Buying Sadharan Plus. The purchase is made and paid in Google Play, under Google Play's terms and Google's Privacy Policy. Google handles your payment details; we never see them. The app asks Google Play whether Plus was bought on your Google account, so it can unlock Plus and restore it on a new phone. That answer stays on your phone; the app sends it nowhere. Google sends us the usual order record for each sale (for example the order number, country and price), which we use only for accounting and to help with refunds.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Internet and network state | Used by Firebase Crashlytics to send crash reports, and by Google Play to check a Plus purchase. The app's own code makes no network calls. |
| Google Play billing | To buy Sadharan Plus, and to check whether it was bought. |
| Run at startup, keep awake | So automatic backup can run on its schedule, also after the phone restarts. |
| Use biometric / fingerprint | Only for app lock, which is off until you turn it on. Android checks your fingerprint, face or screen lock and tells the app only whether it matched; the app never sees or stores them. |
None of these is asked for on screen; Android grants them when the app is installed. The app asks for nothing else: no contacts, location, camera, microphone, storage or notifications. Folders for backups and reports are chosen by you in Android's own picker, one at a time.
Widgets
Widgets you place on your home screen show amounts from the app, such as what you spent today, this month or per category, or a calendar shaded by daily spending. Anyone who can see your home screen can see them, so place them only where you are comfortable. They never show your balance, and app lock does not hide them.
Android backup
If Android backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include the app's data in your device backup, so it comes back when you set up a new phone. This is handled by Android and Google under your backup settings, and can be turned off in your phone's settings. We have no access to it.
Keeping and deleting your information
Everything stays on your phone until you remove it. You can delete entries, accounts and budgets in the app, or delete everything by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it. Backup files you saved are yours to delete. Feedback emails you sent us can be deleted on request.
Crash reports. A crash report has no name, email or account in it, so we can't pick out one person's reports. Google keeps them for about 90 days and then deletes them automatically. Uninstalling the app stops any more being sent. If you want us to delete crash data from your phone sooner, write to apps.androhub@gmail.com and tell us roughly when the app crashed and your phone model; we'll remove what we can match and tell you what we could not.
Children
The app isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
